Katherine Farris
Victoria-based artist Katherine Farris once borrowed a few of my photographs of the Atacama Desert and transformed them into abstract paintings of ice. As she says, the subject matter isn’t all that important. Rather it’s what the object or landscape symbolizes  – the feeling of it – that she seeks to understand.  As she applies layers and layers of paint onto canvas, her hope is that what she’s trying to unearth for herself will find some resonance in the heart and mind of the viewer.

Louise Oborne
Louise is an abstract painter located in Victoria, British Columbia. Her work explores interactions in the natural world and between nature and the urban environment. Her paintings are in private collections in Canada and Cayman Brac.
